Dutch into English is the most common language combination in the Dutch translation market, followed by English into Dutch. Many providers therefore offer services in these language combinations. Being in a class of its own, BTS provides translations of unsurpassed quality.
Preferred spelling
For translations into English, we take into account your preferred spelling: British or American English. We have native speakers from the United Kingdom as well as the United States. Sometimes an English language publication may be for international use. Awareness of such details is important because it enables us to make a translation understandable and accessible to as wide a readership as possible.
Native speaker principle
For each language combination, we work with specialised translators who are native speakers in the target language. Our Dutch-English translators are all native English speakers who have completed language and translation training to translate from Dutch. In addition, our translators specialise in specific fields like engineering, finance or law.
We work with internal and external translators living in the Netherlands or abroad. In some cases, it is preferable to engage a translator who is well informed about Dutch practices and customs, while sometimes it is better to have a document translated by a translator who lives in the United Kingdom.
Dutch translators only translate into Dutch from the language or languages for which they have academic qualifications. Furthermore, each translator has his/her own specialist area. We can thus guarantee high quality translations.
