What is revision?

Revision consists of checking the text which you have written yourself in English, French or any other language. Our expert revisers check the text with respect to grammar, spelling and correctness.

Together with the client, we discuss the desired approach. Do you want to be certain that your message will be communicated to your American partners correctly? We can also ensure that the text is suitable for a specific target group or country (a different tone is required for British business partners than for Americans).

I need an interpreter. What type do I need?

BTS has various types of interpreters in its database. Based on the project, we select the right interpreter for you. We take the region into account to ensure the most cost-effective and efficient approach.

BTS can also supply you with equipment such as microphones and headphones. In short, we can manage the entire project for you.

Bilingual conversation interpreter

The interpreter translates the conversation, sentence by sentence, from the language of speaker A to the language of speaker B and vice versa. A bilingual conversation interpreter is often used in negotiations, at trade fairs, business trips, etc. and does not require any equipment.

Consecutive interpreter

In this case, the interpreter translates parts of the conversation while the speaker pauses. The consecutive interpreter is used in presentations involving several listeners and does not require any equipment.

Simultaneous interpreter

The interpreter translates whilst a speaker is talking. At congresses, the interpreter often works in a booth. For smaller audiences, a whispering interpreter may be the solution. In this case, a mobile installation is required.

Notarial interpreter

The implementation of the Notaries Act in 1999, particularly Article 42, has affected the cooperation between notaries and interpreters in several ways. Pursuant to that article, when executing a deed in the Dutch language for anyone with insufficient command of Dutch, a sworn interpreter-translator must be present to translate the content of the deed.

I want to have my website translated. How do I go about it?

BTS supplies a ready-made solution for the translation of your website, in any language. We supply the translation in the correct format, HTML, XML or any other desired format. With our sophisticated translation software, we ensure that each page is translated consistently.

We can also work directly in your Content Management System, so that you or your website builder can leave the foreign language pages to us. We ensure that the text fits into the available space, taking into account search words and images on the website.

If the text itself needs to be adjusted to suit the target group in the language concerned, we will be happy to oblige. We always discuss the desired approach with you in advance.

How does BTS work?

At BTS you always have your own personal account manager. We attach great importance to good personal relationships in order to optimise our service.

We respond to every request within 30 minutes. Before we start work, we discuss your requirements for this translation. When do you need the text and what is its purpose? On the basis of the text, we produce a tailored plan of approach and an estimate of the cost. After receiving your approval, we start work on the translation. Lead times are minimised due to our short lines and efficient working method. With our database of over 2500 specialised translators, we have sufficient capacity to complete your translation fast.

We only use specialised translators working in their own native language. Whether it is a technical manual, legal correspondence or a creative advertising text, we have the right translator for your project.

If possible, we use sophisticated translation software, thus ensuring consistency in this text as well as in texts previously translated.

Once the text has been translated, an expert reviser checks it for completeness, grammar and accuracy.

If you have any questions after delivery, we will be happy to answer them and make any adjustments.

Our aim is to make life as easy for you as possible. Our efficient approach saves you time and trouble – the key to working with BTS.

How do I know that BTS is a good translation partner?

Most translation companies claim to supply high quality translations and fast delivery times. We realise that it is difficult to choose the right partner from the many translation services on the market, whether they are bigger organisations, freelancers or freelancers presenting themselves as an agency. We therefore take the time to answer your questions and tailor our services to meet your requirements. Ultimately it is you, the client, who determines which translation company is good and which is not. To find out that we are a good and reliable translation partner, you must experience our service. We do our utmost to take the pressure out of your translation projects. We supply what you want, when you want it and you can rely on us to fulfil our promises.

Does BTS use translation computers?

No, BTS does not use translation computers. However, we do work with sophisticated translation software and other translation technology. We use this to support the translation process and ensure consistency with respect to the desired style and terminology. By creating a client-specific translation memory, we constantly improve the quality of our translations as well as generating cost and time savings.

Which translators does BTS use?

BTS only uses experienced specialised translators working in their native language. They all have a translation/linguistic background with specialist qualifications and/or years of experience in a specific sector. For general terms and conditions, a different translator is used than for a technical manual. Our database of over 2500 translators contains all specialisms, from technical to medical and from legal to creative translators. We have a specialist for every text and in every language combination. All translators ensure that they keep up to date with the latest developments in their field.

Our project managers know the translators well, so they know exactly who to select for which text, depending on your wishes. Whether you want a free translation or prefer a translator who strictly follows the original text, all our translators have their own strengths.

All our translators are regularly appraised after the initial critical screening for inclusion in our translators’ database. We can thus monitor how our translators are developing and where they might improve.

Can BTS supply technical translations?

Yes, BTS also works with specialised technical translators, in any language combination and for any subject area. Obviously, the automotive industry uses different jargon than shipping. Our project managers select exactly the right translator for your text.

We like to develop long-term relationships with our clients. As we get to know you and your company better, we can continuously adapt our services to your wishes. By creating a client-specific translation memory, we can improve the quality through consistent use of style and terminology. If you have doubts about a term in a translation or would like it translated differently, we will be happy to discuss it with you and amend the translation. This is part of the extensive service of BTS.
